We chatted to Lauren of Concept Flowers about her award-winning business. Read on…
We offer Flowers, Flowers annnnnnd more Flowers!
For weddings, workshops, events and a manner of all other occasions!
I have been working in the wedding industry for 8 years since founding Concept Flowers, although I have been a florist for longer.
I cover weddings in Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and beyond upon request.
The funniest thing that’s ever happened at a wedding…
Haha! It has to be when once delivering items to the grooms address on the morning of the wedding.
I started worrying that no one was answering , and about to call the chief bridesmaid to make alternative delivery plans, when the door opened, to the best man, looking somewhat worse for wear, wearing nothing, except this wrapped up …. (or at least so he thought)… duvet.
However as I handed over the buttonholes I clocked the reflection of his butt naked ass in the mirror that was directly behind him!
It was so funny to see him blush as he realised what I’d seen!
Obviously those guys had a great evening! and I left with a huge smile on my face! haha!
So guys…. I don’t mind seeing your ass, BUT lets adhere to a pants policy at least 😉
The thing I love most about my job is that not only do I get to work with gorgeous natural products, and other excellent wedding suppliers on a regular basis,
But that I get to use my creativity in everything I do, and be myself whilst I get to interpret my clients visions to a gorgeously floral visual result .
The one piece advice I’d offer to couples about their weddings, is not to stretch their flower budget too thin. Some enquiries will want flowers EVERYWHERE- and believe me everywhere is an option but in reality to dress everywhere and do them justice, usually comes over budget, and lets face it, we All have a budget we are working towards.
By asking for too many areas of floral focus, stretching a budget thin can result in the overall look being impacted in a negative way, and all those little price tags soon mount up, and could even total up to the same value as a larger impact display!
Instead – invest in the areas that will really make a difference- centrepieces, bouquets, and statement makers that have purpose or can be reused for ceremony and reception so that you feel you are making the most out of your floral investment.
Some general wedding planning advice is that whilst planning, don’t lose sight of what your wedding is actually about. Stay true to yourselves and the love you have for one another.
Your relationship is what you come out of your big day with, so invest the most into that!
