At the moment, current restrictions are not allowing weddings, unless there are exceptional circumstances and after lockdown ends, there will be restrictions on numbers, so if you are going ahead, an intimate wedding it is. Here are some ideas on how you can still have that kick-ass wedding with a smaller guest list.

Get Creative

Space is clearly not going to be an issue, so why not choose to have a different layout for your wedding ceremony, with your guests in a circle around you, socially distanced obviously. If you’re worried about there being too much space and everyone looking lost, talk to your venue or a venue stylist about creating a partition with soft materials or fairy lights, perhaps.

Go All Out

You’re still getting married and you still want this day to be memorable for all the right reasons, so why not go all out and have that jaw-dropping tablescape or that extra luxurious catering!

Just Do You

If formal is not your thing and you want to spend as much time outside as possible, why not hire a food truck or two. We’d recommend Pizza with Love or Long Johns Fish & Chips for starters! And don’t forget those sweet treats. Check out The Ice Chef or English Vintage Summer.

Go Smaller or Not!

You can opt to have a smaller wedding cake, as you’ll have less guests or you can still have the big showstopper and do doorstep deliveries to the people who couldn’t attend. If you’re worried about the cake drying out, you could always opt for cupcakes and a small wedding cake. There are always options and let’s face it, no one wants to go without cake!

Virtual Guests

If there are people who would still like to join in with your wedding day, they can always join you virtually. Encourage wedding attire and create a hashtag so you can see all of their photos afterwards. You could even send them a wedding favour, cake or a bottle of bubbly ahead of time, to make them feel really special.

A small wedding may not be ideal for some people but if you do still want to get married and are forced to have less guests, it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. You can still have a mahoosive party when restrictions are lifted. Perhaps for your one year anniversary? It’s all about making the best of your wedding day!
