Hi, and thank you for taking the time to visit South Coast Weddings. I am Sam, the founder of South Coast Weddings, offering Wedding Planning and On the Day Coordination.
I didn’t start out as a little girl dreaming of fairy-tale weddings. In fact, I didn’t know what that fairy-tale was for me at all. In my early career I lived in Canada working as a nanny and went on to work in the charity sector managing volunteers and the charity’s special events. This is where my love of creating events and seeing the joy it brought to people began.
After eight years living in Canada, I returned to the UK and didn’t know what to do. I had no plan! I lived briefly with one sister in Derbyshire, to help her before she moved abroad and Wales, to help another sister before having her first baby, before returning to the south coast working within the charity sector as a fundraiser and afterwards, for a marketing company. It is here in Dorset where I first entered the wonderful world of weddings and in a round about way, everything fell into place.
I started working in the wedding industry in 2012. Combined with my love and skills for working with people, it was the perfect next step. Many many weddings later, it turns out that weddings were my fairy-tale after all.
When I am not planning weddings, I can be found paddleboarding or sea-swimming with friends or drinking tea and spending time with my husband Mat and dogs Hudson and Mollie. My cups of tea have become frequently less hot and less often since our son, Burton, joined us in the world in May 2021.

I love to meet new couples and never forget the joy and privilege I get at meeting them during the most magical and heart-felt time in their lives. There really is nothing more special than watching couples enjoy their wedding day with glorious smiles and peace of mind.
