Scrumptious Bakes by Emma

What is your favourite smell?

Freshly baked bread. It reminds me of baking with my grandad, a master baker, when I was younger.

If you won the lottery, what would you buy?

A fabulous holiday for my family – I love them to bits and I wish we were able to spend more time together.

What is your favourite cake?

I absolutely love our coffee macarons with smooth, whipped Callebaut Belgian dark chocolate ganache. My mouth is watering just thinking about them!

What is your number one tip for couples planning a wedding?

Allow lots of time during planning to discuss and make decisions, and set up a good spreadsheet to keep track of everything!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A wedding planner in France and Italy!

Who would you most like to sit next to on a long-haul flight?

My husband, Josh. He is a pilot and always great company.

If you had one extra hour of free time a day, how would you use it?

More yoga and running. I love the outdoors. Tell us something surprising about yourself I speak French and Italian and have lived in both countries.

How did you propose or get proposed to?

On Christmas Eve, on a beautiful walk in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. I grew up there and it’s such a beautiful place. We got married in the Forest of Dean last October, and even though it poured with rain, it truly was the most special day!

What is your favourite thing about your job?

Bringing dreams to life. From our soft, light sponges with whipped buttercream and award-winning conserves, to our melt-in-the-mouth macarons and buttery vanilla sugar cookies. It is such a wonderful feeling to know that you’re helping to make the most special of days even more memorable.
