Luckily, for the planet, we are all growing ever conscious of the impact our actions can have in a negative way on the environment. We can all make some small changes in every day life but also with our wedding plans, for the greater good and for the future generations.
GUEST NUMBERS
Keeping your guest numbers low, will reduce the amount of people travelling. Or, hold your wedding near to you, so the majority of people are nearby.
INVITATIONS
If you’re against sending e-invites, make sure you opt for recycled paper and don’t add any glitter/glue or it won’t be able to be recycled.
DECORATIONS
Avoid anything that can only be used once. The best option is to pick/make items that can be reused/recycled for someone else’s wedding or event or hire your decorations.
GIFTS/FAVOURS
If you’re planning on giving your guests a gift or favour, why not give something that keeps on giving, such as wild flower seeds.
FLOWERS
The best way to reduce the carbon footprint on your flower order, is to choose local and seasonal flowers for your wedding. Talk to your florist about locally grown options.
DRINKING
Ensure your bar/caterers are using glass or recyclable items for drinks. This will ensure it will not end up in the landfill and will be reused or recycled.
The smallest changes can have the biggest impact and help towards less waste. Be sure to reuse and recycle as much as possible.
