I’ve started making some videos for couples planning a wedding, to help in a practical way.

Hopefully you will pick up some tips and find useful information that you perhaps haven’t thought of.

In this video, I talk about Wedding Supplier Terms & Conditions and Contracts. The point of them and what to check for.

It’s really important that you check all of your paperwork thoroughly and confirm exactly what you are receiving.

Also make sure you know what the cancellation policy is for either yourselves cancelling or the wedding supplier cancelling and what happens with your deposit/balance in that instance.

If you are unsure about anything in the paperwork, ask! Make sure everything is sorted out and clear in your mind before you sign and return.

Keep all of your paperwork in a folder (either physical or digital) and it’s a great idea to have a spreadsheet with all of your supplier names, business name, phone numbers, email addresses as well as what time they’re arriving on the day and when your deposits and balances are due. This way, if you need to hand everything over to a wedding planner or On the Day Coordinator, it’s all there ready.

And, it’s not Ts & Cs or Contracts but it is vitally important, no matter what type of wedding you’re having, that you get wedding insurance. Yes, it is an extra expense but in the grand scheme of things, it is a tiny amount and if the worst should happen, it could save you thousands of pounds and will provide you peace of mind. Honestly, it will be the best thing you can do for your wedding and should be the first thing you buy, because you will be covered from when you purchase it. Obviously, there are a lot of different policies out there so read the small print and make sure you’re covered for the type of wedding you’re having.
